"The Platform: Harry Evans, Ace Newsman"

EVANS' wife, Tina BROWN, was part of the Monaco Media Forum last year. There is a lot in this column by Peter OSNOS that is worth considering in conjunction with this year's event. No doubt there is far more in the EVANS book itself.

"How The Huffington Post uses real-time testing to write better headlines" - Nieman Journalism Lab

Why don't they just let readers write the lede (first sentence) of the stories, too? Or allow readers to pick what subjects ought to be covered? Or which facts included or omitted?

Arianna HUFFINGTON and Eric HIPPEAU may get some questions on this at the Monaco Media Forum.
